| The *Emote* Redemption<Post Score>HI Today we shall talk about EMOTES. What does the word EMOTE means Amorey? I hear you asking. To express emotion, especially in an excessive or theatrical mannerLOTRO BETALOTRO ZerA AionI dont think I need to give the link for the WoW enote as many of us already know them well. LOTRO in my opinion, has some of the best emotes/mods around. We really really need domething similar in Hyboria. Dual Emotes? OMG yes, yes please /sleep /kneelWeapon /dance (1,2,3,4...etc, maybe race related) /crawl /slit a throat slitting gesture /dismiss a shooing gesture /beckon /cheers /drink /knockbackchair /kiss (by kiss I mean a real kiss- which you can do with an other person, they can accept this emote and it would play.) /caress (emote to share) /hug ( without the *collision* its already a beautiful emote...take the collision away, please) /sit (on chair/bench...please?) /Holdhand (an other emote to share) /smile (essential) /sing (now...this would be amazing, at the campfire or at the inn at night) /smoke /faint /flex /mock /spank (you cannot have AoC without spanking :p ) /drunkwalk /splash (in the water...I love my bath ) /battlecry /rose ------'---,-{@ Some of the emotes that are been suggested by AoC fans. What emotes would you like to see in AoC and why? | |

| I used to use a lot of emotes when I played COH/COV. They had a pretty good list of well animated ones.
I do like the above list as well.

| I'm happy if we can make our own emotes (Non-animated). | |

| If we're able to macro the emotes, so they can be attached to the hot-bar I'll use them. but if I need to look them up all the time, or have them written down it's more of a ..meh.. thing for me. | |

| No worries...
But I have to say I concur with Bargi. Heh, although I would memorize one and just use it fifty times an hour!

I do like the above list as well. Except for the sit emote that was just a pain to get just right >< But yes, emotes are the core fun of socializing in any MMO and so far AoC has pretty cool list And as long as I get to have a fearsome roar I'm happy

For your enjoyment Superb! I made quite a long post earlier but managed to lose it so I'll just give you the highlights (lowlights?) I haven't seen this since Star Wars Galaxies (yah im a shameless fanboi) but they had a /mood function that worked well with custom emotes. One could set /mood clinical; cocky; cold; compassionate; condescending etc and use that as a way of imbuing your IC chat or emotes with a bit more richness and depth. I think they had 190ish moods and >350 animated emotes. The good things about the emotes was that they were dual function, so if you executed them on yourself you got one outcome, and a different outcome if you had another PC selected. I saw some really funny mime sketches cobbled together.... Looks like AoC is going to be pretty fun too from the vid. above! Just as a bit of humour I'd love to have the following emotes: /swordspank (<player> takes <target player> over his/her knee and spanks him/her with the sharp edge of a rusy blade - be a good lowbie!) To be used when you can't be bothered to gank a lowbie but want to make a point /crustysword (<player> thoughtfully picks crusty dried blood of his <weapon> while pondering <target player>'s actions) Fun warning that you're about to get mad and start maiming people. /sparelimb (<player> returns <target player>'s decapitated <limb> and pats <target player> on the head) Just beat a fellow in pvp? Would be a fun mock emote to replace /spit I had few more but my brain is Nice to see so many faces about though! G edit1: not that I do or have ever used /spit! >.< edit2: yes of course emotes are super important!! (says he finally getting on topic)

| Incredibly important, but with that importance comes animations that aren't meant to be comical. I mean, the game is designed to keep that sort of gritty, hardcore mentality of Howard's world, so lets make sure the emotes follow that same design idea, shall we?
Also like your list, Amorey. Some good RP'er emotes in there!

I see where you are coming from. I can tell the DEVs are trying not to go overboard with the emotes. There are some good suggestions sprinkled about here though.
