That policy did seem rather gentle and moderate enough.

Will be more interested when and if it includes influence on the PvP (selfmoderated) mentality of no restriction, only excuses.

I know, rude of me, but some are animals and will use any excuse to do anything. Just look at associations used in politics. Pretty, isn't it?

They've got the right bits in there:

1) Don't disrupt RP events
2) RP is not an excuse for griefing
3) No OOC chat in /general
4) Server may have it's own rules you should respect
5) No immersion breaking names

The only worrying bit is 4) it could mean they'll be relying on a lot of community policing. Agree with V that the pvpers often find it easy to justify griefing as RP - which is hard to counter or punish. The other worry is the hardcore pvpers who role on RP servers for the easy kills and specifically to grief.

Can't see any answers to that though other than having a strong GM team to resolve conflicts....

It would depend a lot on PvP incentives of course, but "Don't attack unless you have a reason your victim can agree on" is one thing that wouldn't work

(I am so stuck on the freeform Roleplay thought I fear...because it is...uh, roleplay.)

But that is mature stuff, like warz, demonizing, killing 500 to gain next level and not childish things like family, raising children, politics and philosphy. Those silly things require thinking and that hurtzes uz. Eep.

The only thing that dissapointed me although I should ahve seen it coming is that all names must be a Conan World name.... 95% of all thoughtout names went to down the trashcan

Awesome rules! Now I hope they will keep it up and enforce them..
I also hope when joining or creating a character on a RPPvP realm you get a question about Roleplaying if you know what it means and if you agree to the rules.
